How to create setlists on a pc...almost there need some help! was created by oldmanrockband
I've toyed with the idea of creating a setlist text file right from a windows explorer directory, so I tried this.
Use shift right mouse button over the directory window then 'open command prompt here'
type this in the command window
dir /b > setlist.txt (this creates a text file with the filenames only (no date and time created, filesize etc.)
Move this file via dropbox and dropsync into the Lyric pad setlist directory.
However, when i try to open it in Lyric Pad, the little blue boxes at the LHS don't show, and I can topen the songs. I've looked at the file in notepad++ to see all the control characters etc, and it looks fine. Could this be an encoding issue? I've tried notepad, notepad++ and microsoft word, with no success. I've tried textpad, and document properties for a working setlist look identical to the one I created using the above technique. Any ideas?
Thanks

btw I've attached two setlist files renamed to jpg extension NI2 works NI3 doesn't..

Hi mate,
Can you email me the files?
There is really no reason why that shouldn't work.
Setlist files are very basic in format and have only basic rules.
1) one file name per line
2) file names must be just the file name with no extension
3) file names must match exactly and are case sensitive

Boy what a dummy I am! I had left the .txt extension on the filenames. Thanks for the info!
