Lyric pad was primarily designed so that when the user started a song they would not have to manually control the scrolling. I believe the song you are having an issue with must have a @!duration tag in it which means that lyric pad trys to determine the best scroll speed for the song rather than use the default. This is called intelligent non scripted automation.
If you don't want to use this type of automation then i would advise disabling intelligent non scripted automation in lyric pad options.
