Lyric Pad was never designed to have a search system.
A search system was added after many requests for one but Lyric Pad can certainly operate perfectly fine without it.
This thread will discuss ways to add songs to Lyric Pad without the use of the search system.
Use Lyric Search
I made a free companion app for Lyric pad. Grab it from the google play store.
Make sure you have the latest version of lyric pad as well while you are there
Create TXT files on a PC / MAC and add them to Lyric Pad
You can create plain txt files on any device (with UTF-8 encoding is best) and use them in lyric pad.

Copy and Paste into Lyric Pad
Thats right, you can simply copy and paste into Lyric Pad.
- Find some lyrics on a website in your favourite web browser app
- Hold down on the text to show the selection block and mark the text you wish to copy
- Press the copy button
- Open Lyric Pad
- Go to the Manage Lyrics screen
- Create a new lyric file
- When the editor appears. Hold down on the text area and press the paste option
- Press Save
