How to Transfer My Data To a New Device was created by admin
I have written this topic to give a new user a grounding on how to manually add Lyric Files to Lyric Pad.
Although it is not difficult to do this, every android device is different which can often make it tricky to explain the process.
I am going to break it up into a few steps:
1) Install Lyric Pad on Your New Device
Open the google play app and browse to the Lyric Pad. store listing.
If you have logged in with the same google play user that already owns a licence of Lyric Pad then the "Buy" button will be replaced with an install button.
Press install to install Lyric Pad.
Once it is installed please run Lyric Pad (which will create the default directories)
2) Locate your LyricPad directory on your Old Device
It is crucial that you know this directory. This is where all of the data your have created in Lyric Pad is stored.
The default Lyric Pad directory changes from device to device and you may have even changed your directory away from the default to a custom location.
Do the following process:
3) Transfer lyric files to your new device
Your files need to be on your new device.
Every device is different when it comes to what options are available to transfer data between devices
Some options are:
4) Locate your LyricPad directory on your New Device
Follow the steps in No 2 above to determine the Lyric Pad folder on your new device.
(Every device is different so dont be surprised if it is a different directory than on your old device)
5) Copy files into your LyricPad directory
ok, so you have your files on your device and you know what your Lyric Pad directory is.
Now you need to use the file management app on your device to copy (or move) the files into your Lyric Pad Lyrics directory.
Some common file management app names are "Files", "File Manager", and the like.
6) Restart Lyric Pad
Restarting Lyric Pad is pretty important to do after you have added new files.
Lyric Pad scans its Lyrics directory on startup to create its index of available files and get the files' data.
And thats it!
You should have your files available in Lyric Pad on your new device.
There are other cool ways that you can automate this process.
One such way using dropbox is detailed here.
