Entering lyrics from lyric search to lyricpad, was created by With46
Lyric search finds song and artist but when entered into lyricpad, it’s not in alphabetical order, takes up 3 spaces and states artist unknown, artist by span, when put into a play list it doesn’t play and again takes 3 lines

LyricPad has been working great until this week. I can find the songs in Ultimate Guitar but when I try to save them it gives me an error and doesn't save them. The song title is modified with the addition of "by span". Doesn't do anything when I remove that. Hope it can be fixed. I am still using the original LyricPad. I did buy LyricPad3 but I prefer using the original.

I have the same "by span" problem. I use both lyric pad (preferred) and lyricpad 3. The span song won't play on the set list and when I try to copy my files for back up it stops at the span file and won't finish. "By span" seems to be on every song I try to download now. Its not an ultimate guitar thing because I can copy a song from there and "create a song" to add it.

Is the "By Span" issue also present in Lyrics Pad 3???

I bought LyricPad3 but never was comfortable with it, so I continued with LyricPad. But I did load a song from LP3 and it is also a "by Span" file.
With LP I see the files in the directory under LP and then the subfiles. But I cannot find where LP3 files are stored, so I can't work with them.

I do have a workaround for anyone interested.Steps to load songs from Ultimate Guitar to LyricPad manually
I do these first steps on my iMac
Open TextEditor
Open Ultimate Guitar
Find your song and copy
Go to TextEdit and paste
In TextEdit go to Format and select third option, Make Plain Text
Save file
I email the file to my tablet
On the tablet
Download the file from the email
Move the txt file into LyricPad Lyrics
Open LyricPad
Select Manage Lyrics
Select Edit Lyric
Open the song
Type @!title Too Many Martyrs
Type @!artist Phil Ochs
Type @!duration 3:00
Modify position of chords like you normally would do
Save
