I have tried to put the guitar chords above the lyrics, however, they do not hold the position where I placed them. Is there a solution for this? thank you, Wiley Carlson (new user)

Sounds like you trying to use a true-type font instead of a monospace font.

Short version: Monospace font is much (much much much) easier for lining up chords.
